If you're looking for the most authentic side of Sirmione, far from the crowded beach clubs, Punta Staffalo is the answer. A tongue of white rock diving into transparent waters, just steps from the Grotte di Catullo. The peninsula's best-kept secret.

Cos'è Punta StaffaloWhat is Punta StaffaloWas ist Punta Staffalo

Punta Staffalo is the stretch of coast running along the western side of the Sirmione peninsula, just before the Grotte di Catullo. It's not a beach in the classic sense: you won't find sand or umbrellas here, but flat white limestone rocks overlooking one of the most striking parts of Lake Garda. This is where locals go for a swim "the old-fashioned way": laying towels directly on the time-worn stone and diving into waters so clear they look unreal.

The name likely comes from the local dialect for a small rocky headland jutting into the lake. Here the peninsula narrows into a panoramic path between two shorelines, with Mediterranean vegetation (olive trees, holm oaks, wild rosemary) accompanying the walk.
